The great scientist Nikola Tesla was Romanian. He was of Istro-Romanian origin and his name was Nicolae Tesla born on the night of July 9 to 10, 1856
as the son of the Orthodox priest Milutin Tesla and Gica Mandici.Henri Coanda, the inventor of the jet engine, presents the great inventor Tesla as a Banatian Romanian from Serbian Banat,
but the reality was that his friend Nicolae was an Istro-Romanian from Croatia.

Aurel Vlaicu Roman inventor – He graduated from the Reformed College of Calvin High School in Orăștie, which from 1919 onwards was called “Aurel Vlaicu High School”, taking his baccalaureate in Sibiu in 1902. He continued his engineering studies at the Technische Hoschschule München in Germany, obtaining his engineering degree in 1907. After that he worked as an engineer at the Opel plants in Rüsselsheim. In 1908 he returned to Binținti where he built a glider with which he made a number of flights in 1909. In the fall of 1909 he moved to Bucharest and began the construction of his first plane, Vlaicu I, at the Army Arsenal.

The Henri Coandă jet engine refers to the pioneering,motor-jet engine invented by Romanian engineer Henri Coandă in 1910 for his Coandă-1910 aircraft, which he claimed was the world’s first jet plane. Though the flight was short-lived and its success disputed, it represented an early step in jet propulsion, as Coandă also discovered the Coandă effect, a principle of fluid dynamics crucial to modern jet engine design.
